Herald Sun/Transurban Run for the Kids

The Herald Sun/Transurban Run for the Kids is a community event whose primary aim is to raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

After a spectacular debut in 2006, the Herald Sun/Transurban Run for the Kids has grown to one of Victoria’s largest mass-participation fun runs with participants experiencing a tremendous thrill running over a great course for a great cause. 2020 marks the 15th anniversary event, and some special anniversary celebrations are planned for the occasion.

The event is proud of its position as one of the single biggest fundraising contributors to the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. To date the event has raised over $18.6 million for the Appeal.

In 2020, the event aspires to reach $20 million in total fundraising.

Run for the Kids offers two course distance options - 15km and 5.2km. The event starts and finishes in the Docklands precinct with all entrants given the opportunity to run or walk over the Bolte Bridge. Domain Tunnel will be included in the long course route again this year.

Cost: Short course $55, long course $60
